Mess to miracle

"God meets us in our mess- that's when He has a chance to turn our mess into miracles" Gloria Umanah

Hey there!

Welcome to part three of the quote series! This weeks quote made me think long and hard about my past. My friends and family alike would all tell you I'm a mess. I've grown used to it after 15 years, concluding that God will clean me up someday. For now, I just attempt to glorify God through my messiness. That's where our quote comes in.

God is in the business of turning messes into miracles. He's showed this many times. Some of the strongest Christians I know come from broken homes. Some family friends grew up in poverty; they would sit around the table for dinner without any food on the table. Nevertheless they would thank God for what they had and ask Him to provide. God always provided without fail, and they never had to go to bed without dinner. I met a woman who had three heart attacks and was still waiting for her "sign to accept Him", come to find out the next year one of my friends met a woman changed by God after having her fourth heart attack a week after our last visit.

God doesn't see your circumstance and claim, "They're not worthy of a miracle." He sees you where you are and claims, "They are my child and they will be blessed in my timing." God isn't scared of anything. He doesn't see your struggles and become afraid. He sees that you're scared, hurt, and lonely and He runs to meet you. Trust me, my testimony revolves around God using my fear, my pain, and my loneliness to draw me near to Him. He knows your mess better than you do. He will use your experience to glorify Him.

My room is a safety hazard. I mean books, markers, blankets, shoes, and other miscellaneous items litter the floor. I know where every item is though. Any outsider would reasonably assume I don't know where anything is. I do though. I know my mess, just like God knows everyone's mess.

There's a show on Netflix titled, "Tidying Up with Marie Kondo" Throughout the show Kondo comes and completely cleans someone's house. The person has to be willing to clean and admit the process takes time. God will come into our lives and relieve us of our burden to make space for what's coming, but we have to be ready to surrender so that He can work.

Surrender all your fear, anxiety, depression, addictions, and anything else that's keeping you from receiving your miracle. I pray that you surrender. Let go of what's causing your mess, and keep in mind that the cleaning takes time. Give your mess to God and allow Him to work a miracle in His timing.

Praying,

Addison Wimbish
