Not of this world

Updated: Mar 26, 2020

Hey guys!

Experience

Over the summer my friend told me a quote to has always helped when it comes to feeling judged. "The world cannot judge you because you are not from this world." A hug part of my testimony is feeling out of place and fearing judgement from my peers.

Thoughts

It's said countless times in the Bible that we are not to fear. Sadly, we live in a broken world that is penetrated by terrifying things. What's even more sad, is that what can be the most scary thing, is what other people think or say about us. If we aren't careful our eyes can quickly shift of looking at God for approval, to looking at others for approval.

When we seek approval from other people, we are acting as if God's love for us is based on how loved we are by the world. God's love doesn't go away if you accidently overdress, underdress, say something awkward, or talk a little too much at a social event. His love for us is unchanging. So, why do we act as if the world has power over us?

Connection

Every time I feel judged by my peers, my confidence shrinks a little. But that's not how it's supposed to be. It's hard to claim that you don't care what others think of you, but this year I grew comfortable with the fact that no matter what you do, someone will most likely judge you for it. If you put your value and confidence in what God thinks of you, you won't fear not fitting in nearly as much. I pray that you are intentional in ignoring what the world says is correct.

Praying,
